The team is knowledgeable, friendly and supportive, with a wealth of contacts and experience amongst the extensive Physical and Cognitive community and provider network within Charnwood and Melton. They have weekly Group Supervision Meetings to promote the best possible outcomes for the people we work with. All staff benefit from regular manager supervision, manageable workloads and support from specialist teams within the department (such as finance or legal services). We provide a comprehensive induction package with ongoing access to bespoke learning and development opportunities, including tailored continuous professional development sessions; opportunities for supported further qualifications and access to academic research and practice expertise to develop skills, experience and inform our employees' practice.

Responsibilities

  • Promote independence and wellbeing outcomes for adults with physical or cognitive disabilities.
  • Provide home‑first short‑term interventions and support for early‑onset dementia, alcohol‑related dementia, and other complex needs.
  • Conduct Care Act assessments, safeguarding, mental capacity assessments, best‑interest decisions and court work.
  • Deliver effective assessment and risk‑management delivery, safeguarding, court work, and multi‑agency/multidisciplinary working, including hospital discharge processes.
  • Partner with adults and teams to identify needs and provide creative and pragmatic solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experienced and committed Social Worker.
  • Knowledge of social work methodologies, person‑centred approaches, asset‑based social work and relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Demonstrated experience of effective assessment and risk‑management delivery, safeguarding, court work and multi‑agency/multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience working directly with people with Learning Disability and Autism.
  • Confident communication skills with proficiency in diplomacy, persuasion, assertive conflict management and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong prioritisation and time‑management skills; a valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to speak fluent English (covering Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).

Benefits

Salary ranges: £32,070 – £34,359 for Newly Qualified Social Workers, £35,451 – £39,165 for Level 2 Social Workers, £39,939 – £42,699 for Level 3 Social Workers (plus £3,300 market premium payment for Level 3 Social Workers). Pay Award Pending.
