This is a financial assessment role. As a Case Officer in the Financial Assessments and Deferred Payment Scheme team you will be completing financial assessments for people who receive non-residential and residential services from the local authority. Accuracy and attention to detail are important in this role as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be working with older and disabled people and their representatives to obtain all appropriate financial and other relevant information for the purpose of undertaking a financial assessment. You will be working with minimal supervision, managing a caseload where you will be responsible for the completion of financial assessments. This will involve dealing with queries and correspondence from the public. A standard DBS check is required for this post.

About You / Qualifications

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of, or ability in:

  • Experience of managing a caseload involving dealing with queries and correspondence from the public
  • Working with a computerised financial and data management systems
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care policy and practice
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality, data security and management
  • Communicating well, verbally and in writing
  • Gathering and analysing information
  • Working without direct supervision, managing your own time effectively, prioritising to meet deadlines
