A unique opportunity has arisen for someone who enjoys driving, to drive a County Council operated vehicle to Schools and other locations across Leicestershire during term time.
About the Role
You will be driving the Council’s Camera Enforcement Vehicle, which is fitted with specialist software, and carry out scheduled patrols at designated locations across the county. These patrols will take place primarily during school start and finish times to support safe and responsible parking in our communities.
You will follow scheduled patrol routes to capture evidence of parking contraventions near schools, bus stops, and other designated locations, ensuring all activity complies with relevant policies, legislation, and procedures.
At the end of each patrol, you will be responsible for securely transferring recorded data from the device to the Council’s software systems. You will also be required to transport the vehicle(s) to and from maintenance depots for servicing and repairs as needed. In addition, you must ensure that the vehicle is maintained in a clean, hygienic, and tidy condition at all times, both inside and out, including any replacement vehicles.
This role is a “safety critical post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Testing Policy, Procedure and Guidance is available upon request.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle
- Have knowledge of the Highway Code and drive County Council vehicle(s) in a safe manner
- Have basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and be able to undertake minor vehicle repairs with appropriate direction from the Council’s Driver Vehicle Maintenance Team
- Have good time keeping
- Be able to follow set programmes & instructions and use own initiative
