Organisation and Location: Leicestershire County Council – The Trees Short Breaks, Deveron Way, Hinckley LE10 0XD

Salary and Hours: Grade 9 £32,070 - £34,359 (per annum), pro rata for part‑time. 30 hours per week, permanent, flexible, with weekend and bank holiday work required.

About the Role: In this role, you will lead the Care Services Team at The Trees Short Breaks, providing respite care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. You will ensure high‑quality care and support, maintain audit systems, deliver outcome‑focused care, identify and manage risks, and promote safeguarding procedures. You will provide direct care, motivate the team, and support the service values and individual independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high‑quality care and support to adults with learning differences in the Short Breaks service.
  • Maintain high quality services through effective audit systems and ensure outcome‑focused care and support.
  • Identify risks, apply safeguarding procedures and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Provide direct care and support to service users, motivating and supporting the team and celebrating individuality.
  • Work in accordance with the Leicestershire County Council Employee Code of Conduct and the Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers.
  • Co‑operate with the team to ensure training, mentoring and coaching support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated commitment to high‑quality care, maximising independence and assistance with moving and handling.
  • Responsive to 24/7 service demands; flexible, rota‑based work, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a social care setting; strong IT and written records skills.
  • Sound regulatory knowledge of the Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Analytical skills to make defensible decisions, compile risk assessments and implement audit action plans.
  • Experience managing risk areas, including safeguarding, and providing advice to staff.
