You'll play a key role in providing high-quality administrative support that helps our services run smoothly and efficiently across Corporate Resources and the wider Council.
About the Role
Our Business Services Team is a positive, forward-thinking group with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and efficient support across Corporate Resources. The wider service is made up of three teams – Support Services, Secretariat, and Information & Complaints – and while this role sits primarily within Support Services, you'll work flexibly across all areas when required.
This is a varied and rewarding administrative role. You'll take responsibility for a range of daily tasks that help keep our services running smoothly. This includes accurate data entry, raising and managing purchase orders and invoices, booking training requests, maintaining up-to-date records, ordering supplies and services, and responding to phone and email enquiries. You'll play a key part in ensuring our customers, both internal and external, receive a high-quality, professional service.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- 5 GCSEs (grades 4-9 or equivalent), including English and Maths
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word and Excel)
- Experience of raising purchase orders and processing invoices
- Strong numeracy and communication skills
- Ability to manage your workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Confidence working independently and using your own initiative
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt quickly when priorities change
