The Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Team within the Autism Outreach Team offers an opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed ABA Assistant Consultant to join the team. The role involves delivering ABA theory, programmes and practice, supporting positive outcomes for autistic pupils in mainstream education settings across Leicestershire and surrounding counties. The assistant consultant will manage a caseload, model best practice, provide training and develop resources to promote curriculum access for autistic learners.

An enhanced with barred list DBS check is required for this post.

About You

  • MSc in ABA and a certified UK behaviour analyst (UKBA) or higher qualification in ABA with substantial experience of working directly with pupils with a diagnosis of autism or communication and interaction needs as an ABA Assistant Consultant, including demonstrable experience, skills and knowledge of ABA and PBS teaching approaches and of resources to support the attainment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver training and feedback to members of staff and establish effective working relationships with colleagues, educational settings, public and partner agencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, effective guidance, information and publicity materials.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively, prioritise work, show flexibility in response to changing priorities and demonstrate effective time management working to a deadline.
  • Be able to use own initiative to analyse data and produce accurate and concise reports, plan training and feedback activities and work in an organised manner.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and personal development is essential in the role.
  • Significant experience of working appropriately in accordance with relevant statutory and local policies and procedures for SEND and the ability to carry out all duties in line with LCC Safeguarding policies and procedures and fulfil relevant safeguarding competencies.
