Main duties of the job
Your primary objective will be to ensure the timely and accurate dispensing of medications for our outpatient population. Working collaboratively with our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining stock control, replenishing supplies, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary. Job responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Technician will include:
- Dispensing and issuing medications, including controlled drugs and oral cytotoxic agents, for outpatient prescriptions.
- Maintaining accurate stock control of medications and ensuring timely replenishment of sundries.
- Participating in the organisation of the dispensary to uphold cleanliness and compliance standards.
- Collaborating with the pharmacy team to facilitate efficient workflow and contribute to the overall success of TrustMed Pharmacy.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC or will be eligible and planning to register with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician in the near future.
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of having worked in a community pharmacy or a hospital pharmacy in a dispensary setting.
- Training others.
- Basic knowledge on medicines.
- Understanding of clinical governance and ability to ensure patient safety.
- Experience of working in outpatient pharmacy.
- Experience of counselling patients on their medicines.
- Supervision of the pharmacy team.
