The closing date is 04 June 2026. The role is a 12-month contract for a whole‑time Trust Grade Specialty Registrar Doctor, ST3–6, providing training in all aspects of ENT.

Location: Leicester Royal Infirmary and the new EMPCC Hub based at Leicester General Hospital.

The post will involve outpatients, inpatient day case capacity and emergency on‑call service.

Main Duties
  • Provide an outpatient service.
  • Attend peri‑operative visits and ward rounds, delivering high‑quality patient care.
  • Participate in the emergency ENT on‑call service.
  • Play a role in the clinical management of patients.
  • Participate in operative lists.
  • Engage in clinical audit and evidence‑based practice.
  • Practice adequate handover of care.
  • Ensure discharge summaries are completed for all admissions.
  • Contribute to service development in areas of special interest.
  • Actively participate in continuing medical education.
  • Undertake personal appraisal and job‑planning as part of revalidation.
  • Take part in a 1‑in‑7 on‑call rota, supervising junior doctors and supporting emergency cases.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, research and audit.
Person Specification
  • Training and Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent. Full GMC registration with licence to practice. MRCS.
  • Experience: Completed core surgical training or equivalent. Experience in the management of ENT problems.
  • Motivation: Evidence of motivation for further training in ENT.
  • Audit/Clinical Governance: Evidence of completed audit.
  • Management Ability: Experience of minor management roles.
  • Teaching and Training: Evidence of a keen interest in teaching and training.
