An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator working within Imaging Services at UHL. We are looking for a capable and adaptable individual to join our friendly team in this interesting and varied role. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the patient pathway, booking radiology appointments and ensuring that Referral to Treatment Pathways are managed appropriately. You will be a well-organised, self-motivated individual with good communication skills, who enjoys working as part of a team.
Main duties of the job include:
- Proactively managing inpatient/outpatient waiting lists in liaison with the responsible Consultant Radiologist, and subspecialty groups.
- Manage and prioritise own workload on a day to day basis, which requires using one's own initiative as well as problem solving.
- Waiting list management of inpatient/outpatient, daycase and diagnostic activity to ensure local and national targets are met in line with Trust and National policy for RTT, DM01 and Cancer Wait Times.
- To provide a courteous and professional service at all times with respect to communication to patients, colleagues and service users.
- Ensure confidentiality of patients records and information is maintained at all times.
Person Specification:
Training & Qualifications- Educated to GCSE standard or Equivalent including English and Maths.
- Experience of CRIS NHS Systems & Procedures.
- 3 Years Admin Experience, with a working knowledge of waiting list process.
- Diary Management Experience of dealing with customers/patients.
- Demonstrate an understanding and ability to effectively co-ordinate the administration of a complex care pathway.
- At least one year working in a large complex organisation.
- Medical administration experience, including elective and inpatient waiting list management against local and national targets.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Effective Communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively in emotive situations, giving clear and concise information to patients.
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff that have competing demands on your time.
- Exposure to dealing with complaints.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to and understanding of the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect appropriate to their individual needs.
- All staff are expected to engage in compassionate and inclusive leadership in the provision of high quality care and interactions with others.
- Ability to act on own initiative.
- Ability to work without close supervision to ensure the effective management of patients within Local & National Targets.
- Planning and Organisation skills with ability to prioritise schedules and workloads.
- Demonstrate ability to plan patient care along the prescribed pathway within the agreed time frames.
- Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
