Catering Team Leader - LRI

To provide effective supervision within the Domestic/Patient Catering team, ensuring a continued professional and a responsive cleaning and patient meals services are delivered to meet the needs of the service.


This post requires you to be hands on working within the team undertaking planning and carrying out staff appraisals. Responsible for recording/reporting staff sickness and absences. Planning and approving annual leave. Planning and supporting staff through training. duties that may be required within the Patient Catering team


Main duties of the job


Working flexibly within the Patient Catering team


Be able to communicate and liaise effectively within the Patient Catering team in accordance with Trust values.


Ensuring that cleaning is carried out to the required frequencies and


Ensuring that waste is correctly segregated, and bins are routinely emptied and relined as required and that waste is stored/removed in line with Trust Waste Policy.


Ensure that any mechanical defects, faulty or broken equipment identified is recorded and reported.


Observing and monitoring the team ensuring they are working safely and following processes when undertaking their duties.

Job responsibilities


Ensuring that the correct storage and economical use of materials andchemicals following, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) policies and procedures.


Working within chilled areas and in wet environments.


To ensure that Temperature records and cleaning checklist are being completed accurately to the required frequencies.


Ensuring stock rotation, stock is being checked for Dates, Damage and Quality with Quarantine any food items that have been identified.


Completing complaint forms and advising your manager of these.


Ensure that all equipment is cleaned after use and stored appropriately. Completing opening and closing checks To undertake scheduled cleaning/catering audits using a handheld electronic monitoring FMFirst system, ensuring rectifications are completed within the specified time scales


Person Specification


Experience



  • Able to carry out instructions and duties as detailed in the job description

  • Previous experience with working within a catering environment

  • Willingness to work towards and achieving CIEH Level 3 in Food safety

  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment. Catering experience CIEH Level 3 in Food Hygiene Supervisory experience

  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff and patients

  • Able to work in a busy environment.


Physical Skills



  • Working to deadlines safely in a care environment

  • Good level of fitness


Flexibility



  • Flexibility to cover colleagues when required and or be able to work unsociable hours.

  • Flexible approach to working practices

  • Must be able to attend Trust induction and any relevant training that is required for this position.
