Leicester Terrace Health Care Centre is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking, and approachable GP. This role is for a minimum of 6 sessions, which will include a Monday and Friday. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and keen to work collaboratively within a diverse primary healthcare environment.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse practice population
- Assess and manage a wide range of undifferentiated conditions, making confident and autonomous clinical decisions
- Identify risk factors and early signs of illness, working with patients to create tailored care plans in line with current guidelines
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical records for all consultations
- Prescribe safely and effectively in line with best practice and local formularies
- Manage day-to-day clinical administration, including referrals, repeat prescriptions, and follow-up tasks
- Work in a flexible, team-oriented way, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, collaborative working environment
- Play an active role in maintaining a fair and balanced team workload, showing leadership where appropriate
- Take part in quality improvement work, including audits and embedding best practice across the service
- Support the training and development of medical students and GP registrars
- Engage with the wider Primary Care Network to help enhance services for the local community
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and professional development within the practice

Leicester Terrace Health Care Centre is a vibrant, town-centre practice serving over 18,000 patients. We are proud of our diverse and experienced multidisciplinary team, which includes eight GP Partners, a nursing team of ten, Mental Health Workers, Social Prescribers, Clinical Pharmacists, Care Coordinators, Paramedics, and a Physician Assistant. We are an active member of our Primary Care Network and a committed training practice, supporting GP registrars and medical students.
Job responsibilities
The post-holder will deliver comprehensive primary care services, including face-to-face and telephone consultations, home visits, and the timely management of prescriptions, correspondence, and clinical queries. They will assess and manage a broad range of undifferentiated conditions, make autonomous clinical decisions, and support patients through diagnosis, treatment planning, health education, and appropriate referrals. Accurate record-keeping and safe, effective prescribing in line with practice guidelines are essential throughout. Alongside clinical duties, the role involves contributing to quality improvement, audit activity, and the ongoing development of patient records and practice systems. The post-holder will work collaboratively within the team, uphold practice policies, and engage in continuous professional development to ensure high standards of evidence-based care. There is a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment, including adherence to infection control procedures, health and safety regulations, and risk management processes. The role also requires a commitment to equality, diversity, and respectful patient care, alongside effective communication with patients, carers, and colleagues. The post-holder will take responsibility for their own learning and performance, participate in training and appraisal processes, and contribute to service development and implementation within the practice.

Qualifications
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP Register
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR) or equivalent
- Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible
- Experience in general practice and working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience of using SystmOne
