Hours: Part Time Contract (We anticipate this being a self-employed role)

Location: Worcestershire (with some work in surrounding areas)

About Us: Redgate Sports is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people through sport and mentoring. We work with children who are care-experienced, have special educational needs, are at risk of exclusion, or come from low-income families.

Due to growing demand and recent funding, we are looking for motivated, self-employed Sports Coaches and Mentors to join our team in Worcestershire.

The Role: You will deliver high-quality sports coaching and mentoring sessions in schools and community settings. The role involves supporting vulnerable children, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and experience the positive impact of sport.

A coach/mentor would normally have a sport they specialise in; however, all our coaches are asked to deliver a range of sports to meet the needs of our students. There is no fixed venue — sessions take place across Worcestershire, with occasional work in nearby areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality sports coaching sessions
  • Build positive relationships with children and young people
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, and mentoring support
  • Manage your own schedule and adapt to the needs of schools and community partners
  • Work collaboratively with the Redgate team to develop and improve programme delivery

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experience in sports coaching
  • A genuine desire to make a difference in young people's lives
  • Strong communication skills — patient, kind, and able to build rapport
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel to multiple venues
  • Willingness to work on a self-employed basis
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory DBS check (supported during recruitment)
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, young people, or those with SEND
  • First Aid qualification (can be completed during recruitment)

Pay: We offer competitive hourly and daily rates based on qualifications and experience. All work is daytime and not weather-dependent. Expenses paid.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real difference to children who are often excluded from sport
  • Flexible daytime hours — ideal for coaches seeking more stable daytime work
  • Be part of a supportive, passionate team committed to positive change
