We are currently seeking to fill the position of Theatre and Events Technician at Leicester Grammar School. The role presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the technical aspects of theatre, live events and audio‑visual production, who enjoys working within a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience and knowledge of sound and lighting systems, AV technology and event production. They must have flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required to support school and commercial events across the Trust; dates will be provided in advance.
Leicester Grammar School Trust hosts a wide range of performances, events and external bookings, requiring high‑quality technical delivery across its performance and function spaces. The Theatre and Events Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of sound, lighting and AV systems, as well as supporting the design and implementation of technical solutions for new or improved venues.
The role also contributes to the production of professional‑standard video and stage content, ensuring events are delivered to a consistently high standard. The successful candidate will work closely with staff and students to support school productions, examinations and Trust‑wide events, including assemblies, open days, speech days and other key occasions.
An important aspect of the role is the supervision and development of a pupil Tech Team. The post holder will provide structured opportunities for students to gain hands‑on experience and develop skills in technical theatre and event production, helping to foster confidence, teamwork and a love for the technical side of the performing arts.
