We are currently seeking to fill the position of Swimming Assistant – Level 1 at Leicester Grammar School. We are excited to be launching SWIM@LGST and are looking for enthusiastic and passionate swim assistants to join our growing team. Our swim school is committed to delivering high-quality swimming lessons in a supportive and welcoming environment. With smaller class sizes and excellent facilities, including a heated 25-metre, six-lane pool and modern wet-side changing facilities, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and expanding programme.

You will work alongside a friendly and experienced team, supporting the delivery of swimming lessons and helping swimmers develop confidence, skills and enjoyment in the water. As a school employee, you will benefit from being part of a professional and supportive organisation with opportunities to grow as the swim school expands.

Applicants should hold a Swim England/SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification or equivalent. A valid First Aid or lifesaving qualification is desirable. You will be confident, patient and engaging, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience working with children or within a sporting environment would be advantageous.

Schedule:

  • Monday 4:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Tuesday 4:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Thursday 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Friday 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Saturdays 8:30am – 2:00pm (then 1‑1s, stroke clinics and rookie lifeguard)
  • Sundays 8:30am – 2:00pm (then community splash 2:30pm – 3:30pm)
