The role of Senior Support Worker is to oversee and supervise the day-to-day activities of a team of Learning Support Workers, providing a range of learning support and personal assistance to students with learning support needs, including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or mental health needs, who are on the Supported Learning courses within the College.
They will also manage staff allocation and rotas, ensure individual student support is in place, and provide cover as necessary.
We are looking for applicants who:
- Understand the role of support and are committed to enabling students and developing their communication and independence skills.
- Are highly motivated, flexible, able to work as part of a team, and can use their own initiative.
- Have good communication skills to work effectively with teachers and Learning Support Workers.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold or be willing to work towards Level 2 English and Maths qualification or equivalent GCSE Grade C and above, or GCSE grade 4 or above.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a Learning Support or Health and Social Care Level 2 qualification.
- Be educated to Level 3 or equivalent.
