An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced and highly motivated Programme Lead (Higher Education). We welcome applications from candidates with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering disciplines.
Applicants will be required to deliver and lead Level 4 (HNC) and Level 5 (HND) Engineering programmes, aligned to their specialist expertise. Teaching may include a range of technical and applied units within electrical/electronic engineering, mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering.
The successful applicant will lead provision across Higher Education programmes, working with learners progressing into professional engineering roles or further study. The role has a strong emphasis on inclusion, academic leadership, quality assurance, awarding body compliance and student progression, including progression to employment or higher-level study.
We are seeking an individual with a strong Engineering background gained through industry and/or HE/FE teaching experience. The Programme Lead will work closely with the Programme Area Manager and curriculum team to manage and monitor HE programmes, oversee course data, and plan provision that maximises learner outcomes, funding and resources. The role includes responsibility for ensuring learner progress is tracked accurately using college systems, maintaining strong retention and achievement, and leading on systems and processes that support high-quality HE delivery and continuous improvement.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of high-quality teaching and learning, alongside experience of curriculum leadership, internal verification, standardisation and course performance review using quality and performance indicators. Experience of HE quality processes and awarding organisation requirements is highly desirable.

- Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
- Minimum Level 4/5 Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or above).
- Full Teacher qualification Level 5 or above e.g. Diploma in Education and Training, Cert Ed, PGCE.
