An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Engineering Department for an experienced, highly motivated Lecturer. Applicants are invited from an Engineering background ideally able to deliver a selection of Engineering subjects such as Electrical and Electronic Principles, Engineering Mathematics, Project and Workshop Skills, including circuit building, testing, fault-finding and practical electronic systems.
The successful applicant will teach across a range of full time, part time and HE programmes to students typically studying at level 2 to level 5 including Engineering specialism T-Levels based on prior industrial/teaching experience.
Qualifications- A relevant level 4/5 HNC/D qualification or be able to demonstrate significant industrial experience as a minimum requirement.
- A Level 2 qualification in maths and English (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- A full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
- The key responsibilities of the role include delivering theoretical and practical knowledge and managing and conducting assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines.
- Ensuring learner progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved.
- Knowledge of IV processes are desirable together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators.
- Previous experience of working in a training environment or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Support is available for exceptional candidates yet to achieve qualified teacher status who are able to demonstrate commitment to developing others.
- An ability to demonstrate appropriate IT skills will be required including working remotely to provide distance learning and support to cohorts of students as required.
