Whether you're an experienced educator or new to teaching, if you have a strong background in Building Services Engineering (Electrical Installation), we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will ideally be able to deliver a range of core subjects, including:

  • Electrical Installation Techniques across Industrial, Commercial, and Domestic settings
  • Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
  • Construction Design Principles
  • Construction Maintenance Principles
  • Health & Safety in the Construction Environment

A broad understanding of the wider Construction sector would be advantageous, as would a commitment to inspiring the next generation of industry professionals. The successful applicant will teach across a range of full time and part time programmes to students typically studying from Level 1 to Level 3 including Construction T-Levels (core and occupational specialisms) based on prior industrial/teaching experience.

Qualifications needed for this role:

  • A relevant Electrical Installation based Level 3 qualification or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate significant industrial experience in the Electrical Installation field.
  • Level 2 in maths and English (GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Applicants will be required to hold a full teaching qualification at Level 5 or above or be willing to work towards obtaining one. If you do not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.

The key responsibilities of the role include delivering theoretical and practical knowledge, developing and implementing improvements to support learning, plus managing and conducting assessments in line with awarding organisation guidelines. Ensuring student progress is tracked and maintained on College IT systems, and that retention and achievement levels are maintained and improved.

Previous experience of working in a training environment or with young people is desirable but not essential, as support is available for exceptional candidates who have not yet achieved qualified teacher status but demonstrate commitment to developing others. If this position is of interest and you share our passion to develop individuals and provide the highest quality learning experiences, we would welcome your application.
