Leicester College is seeking to appoint an exceptional Director of IT to provide strategic leadership for the College’s IT function. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Deputy Principal of Finance and Corporate Services, with responsibility for shaping and delivering a secure, innovative, and future-focused digital strategy. Technology is central to the College’s teaching, learning, and business operations. The Director of IT will play a pivotal role in ensuring our IT infrastructure, systems, and services are robust, resilient, and aligned with the College’s strategic objectives.
About the Role
The Director of IT is the College’s senior IT specialist and strategic lead for technology, digital risk, and innovation. The postholder will:
- Lead the development and delivery of the College’s IT and digital strategies
- Provide expert advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Corporation
- Ensure the security, integrity, and resilience of IT systems and data
- Drive digital transformation and major systems initiatives
- Oversee IT infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity
- Lead high-performing, multidisciplinary IT teams
- Manage significant IT budgets, procurement, and supplier relationships
- Promote digital capability and confidence across the College
The role carries accountability for IT operations, cyber security, data integrity, reporting systems, and service excellence, ensuring technology effectively supports staff and learners.
