About The Role & Who We’re Scouting
We’re on the lookout for passionate individuals to join our matchday squad at Leicester City Football Club. As a Safety Steward, you’ll play a key role in the Club's matchday operations team, helping to deliver a safe and professional matchday operation for all LCFC supporters attending the King Power Stadium.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To work with supervisors to deliver requirements in relation to duties
- Be proactive in always delivering safety arrangements
- To assist with and be aware of the safety, security, and service needs of all spectators
- To ensure compliance with the conditions of entry as set out in the ground regulations and safety certificate, and any other conditions that may apply
- To control or direct spectators who are entering or leaving the ground, to help achieve a safe, even flow of people in, to and from the viewing areas
- To monitor crowd movements and density within viewing areas to prevent overcrowding
- To identify and report potential hazards, for example trip hazards, defective services, or fire hazards
- To respond to conflict and, where appropriate, to alert the Ground Safety Officer
- To respond to incidents (such as the early stages of a fire, a medical incident, or structural defect) to communicate to Stadium Control and to take the necessary immediate action
- To undertake specific duties in an emergency or as directed by the Ground Safety Officer or the appropriate emergency services officer
- To assist the emergency services as required
- To have the ability and resources to describe accurately and record the incidents that they have witnessed or experienced, for future reference or prosecution
- To be confident and competent in the use of technology and aids supplied by the Club, such as radios, tablets, megaphones, or body worn video etc
- Attend a pre-match briefing prior to the King Power Stadium opening to the public
- Continuously monitor and report any issues or incidents through the match day lines of communication
- The delivery of a safe match day experience through an effective stewarding service
- Maintain a high standard of personal safety, customer service, and dress code throughout
- Understand the general Health and Safety requirements towards all categories of spectator (children and those with disabilities) including other members of staff
- To respond to issues around inclusion and discrimination in any form
- Ensure compliance with Ground Regulations
Whilst no previous experience is necessary and all training/qualifications will be provided, the ideal candidate will be confident in public-facing roles, have a passion for customer service, and understand the critical role that our matchday team has in promoting a safe environment for supporters, often in high-pressure situations.
