Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for a Community Wellbeing Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a fixed-term basis.

As a Community Wellbeing Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of students across the University of Leicester and De Montfort University. Using the power and reach of LCFC, you'll create safe, welcoming spaces where students can access early help, build resilience and feel supported before reaching crisis point. From coordinating wellbeing cafés to delivering strengths-based interventions, signposting and referrals, you'll be at the heart of a service that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Key Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver wellbeing programmes, mental health support activities, and accessible drop-in services for students, including international students, at University of Leicester and De Montfort University.
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment, offering practical support, signposting, and referrals where necessary.
  • Support individuals to develop healthy coping strategies, build resilience, and promote hope, self-worth, and purpose.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with the VCSE sector, statutory services, and community organisations to create integrated pathways of support.
  • Represent LCitC in local networks and work closely with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to develop a consistent, high-quality offer.
  • Safeguard the welfare of participants, ensuring compliance with LCitC safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the universities' student support services and wellbeing teams to ensure students receive the level of support required.
  • Line-manage staff and volunteers, providing supervision, reflective practice opportunities, and ongoing development.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Relevant qualifications in wellbeing, mental health, or physical activity delivery.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding.
  • Mental health awareness and trauma-informed training.
  • Significant experience of engaging with adults in a community setting.
  • Experience delivering and coordinating wellbeing or mental health programmes.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of local mental health services and pathways.
  • Coordination experience within a community setting.
  • Experience of developing relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and lead a team.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to build relationships with participants and partners quickly.

Contract Type: Fixed-Term

Hours Per Week: 30 hours per week. You may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.

Location: LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions will take place at partner schools/local community centres etc., and some aspects of the role will require homeworking, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood.
