Location: Leicester City Football Training Ground, Seagrave
Play a vital role in supporting player performance while working in a state-of-the-art football training environment. We are seeking an experienced Casual Chiropodist / Podiatrist to provide high-quality foot care to our Professional Football Players and, on occasion, staff. This flexible role sits within the Medical Department and plays an important part in supporting player availability, wellbeing, and long-term foot health at our modern, world-class training ground in Seagrave.
Working on a casual, as-required basis, you will deliver specialist chiropody and podiatry support aligned to the demands of professional football. You will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management of foot-related conditions common in high-performance sport, including delivering bespoke treatments and performing minor surgical procedures within your professional scope of practice. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary medical team including Doctors, Physiotherapists, Masseurs, a Practice Manager, and an existing Club Podiatrist who attends on an ad-hoc basis to provide biomechanical analysis and bespoke insoles.
What we are looking for:
- HCPC-registered Chiropodist / Podiatrist with a BSc Degree in Podiatry
- Clinical experience in sports podiatry, MSK practice or high-performance environments
- Strong experience managing athlete-related foot conditions
- Confidence performing sterile minor procedures within scope of practice
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with players
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and infection control
- Flexible and adaptable approach to align with training and match schedules
What you'll do:
- Assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of foot conditions in professional footballers
- Deliver bespoke chiropody treatments including nail care, callus and skin management
- Perform minor surgical procedures such as blister management and nail treatments
- Manage acute and chronic football-related foot conditions
- Provide regular foot health checks to First Team and Academy players
- Advise on foot health, hygiene, injury prevention, boot fit and pressure management
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary medical team to support player care
- Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with data protection requirements
- Manage clinical supplies, equipment, and infection control standards
- Keep up to date with best practice in podiatry, chiropody and sports medicine
