About The Role & Who We're Scouting

We're on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Goalkeeper Coach to join our team at LCWFC. You'll play a key role within our Academy Coaching department, overseeing all goalkeepers within the Academy and ETC age groups and supporting with the development and execution of elite-level sessions.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Preparing and delivering training sessions across the Academy age groups
  • Monitoring and reporting of performance, evaluating against established and agreed goals, and promoting a positive environment for learning and development

Main Objectives

  • To lead on the development of all goalkeepers in the ETC age groups
  • To support the development of all goalkeepers in the Academy age group squads alongside the Lead Academy Goalkeeper Coach
  • Work with the MDT to ensure effective planning, delivery and review of sessions and collation of information for IDPs
  • Plan and deliver sessions to goalkeepers as well as working with goalkeepers within unit and team sessions
  • In conjunction with the Club's other coaching staff, plan daily, weekly, and monthly training schedules
  • Ensure session plans are completed and shared prior to a session
  • Provide feedback for internal meetings and IDPs on player progression
  • Share any safeguarding concerns with the Women's Safeguarding and Welfare Officer
  • Carry out role responsibilities with due regard to the Club values, policies and procedures, in particular Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Data Protection.

The ideal candidate will also meet set criteria for the role:

  • Level 2 National Goalkeeping course accreditation
  • UEFA C coaching qualification
  • FA DBS
  • Hold an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate or be willing to complete upon commencement of employment
  • FA Level 1 IFAIF certification (Introduction to First Aid in Football) / FA Emergency First Aid
  • This role is subject to a satisfactory FA Enhanced DBS check
  • UEFA B coaching qualification (desirable)
  • Previous experience working within an elite-level Academy programme (desirable)

About The Club

In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women's Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International, Leicester City's parent company, and realigned as a core team in Leicester City's football operation.
