Leicester City Council is the largest landlord in the City of Leicester with a property asset base valued at over £1.32 billion and a commercial real estate portfolio valued at over £151 million. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced commercial real estate senior leader or aspiring senior leader to take the next step in their career within a well-established and growing Local Authority Commercial Real Estate team.

Based in Leicester, you’ll have the chance to operationally lead, manage and develop a local commercial real estate portfolio, while also being part of a wider professional estates team focusing on and supporting you with legal, debt management, capital delivery, facilities management and performance management services.

This role offers significant career progression to the right person and an opportunity to take ownership of and drive the performance of both existing work and new business investment initiatives. With a strong focus on the commercial real estate portfolio, you’ll be pivotal in driving operational excellence, increasing profitability, and enhancing client and tenant satisfaction.

A natural leader, you’ll manage the team’s performance, leading and motivating a team of commercial real estate professional chartered surveyors at varying levels in their careers and playing a key role in taking the team to the next level in the Leicester and Leicestershire market.

With a proven track record of adding value through strategic decision-making, you’ll have a strong ability to shape strategy and provide valuable insights. Demonstrating your ability to take ownership of significant projects and drive change with minimal oversight, you’ll manage and grow a diverse commercial portfolio with a particular focus on building long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.

You’ll have solid experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and be comfortable with making data-driven decisions to improve portfolio performance. You’ll be MRICS or FRICS qualified - RICS Registered Valuer is desirable - or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience managing a large, diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
