Responsibilities

  • Part Time / 20 Hours Per Week / Term Time / Permanent
  • Join us to play a key role in ensuring children and vulnerable adults’ wellbeing is at the heart of the work we do.
  • Starting the day at the depot you\\\'ll join the driver to collect passengers, and work with the family to assist them onto the vehicle and secure them with a seat belt. If a passenger is in wheelchair, then you\\\'ll secure this with clamps.
  • On arrival at each destination, you\\\'ll hand over vulnerable passengers to a responsible adult. You\\\'ll support both vulnerable young people and adults whilst they are driven between home, schools, and day centres. You\\\'ll ensure their personal wellbeing in a safe and appropriate manner - making their daily journey a comfortable one.
  • Creating a real relationship with the passengers you\\\'ll be a key link between the schools and parents. Getting to know the passengers you\\\'ll provide crucial support, and find real reward in caring for individuals. An effective communicator, you\\\'ll be able to work with members of the public across all ages.
  • Having a caring attitude, you\\\'ll be sensitive to the needs of vulnerable people and their needs.
  • Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
  • You\'ll work from Monday to Friday 07:30-09:30 and 14:30-16:30 to complete both pickups and drop offs. This is term time only, 38 weeks a year and you\'ll be expected to take annual leave during the school holidays. Based at Sulgrave Road, you\'ll travel across the city.

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent education accepted.
  • Enhanced DBS check (subject to disclosure).
  • Part time requirement: 20 hours per week during term time; 38 weeks per year.
  • Based at Sulgrave Road; travel across Leicester City.
