Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 12 months due to funding. Leicester City Council is seeking a Team Manager to lead a Children's Social Care team, ensuring children are central to our service. Recent Ofsted inspection rated the service as GOOD, recognising strong support, supervision and manageable caseloads.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team, ensuring high performance and effective supervision.
- Oversee the full case cycle from referral to single assessment, keeping the child and family at the centre of work.
- Apply the Signs of Safety model, trauma informed practice and the Lundy model of participation.
- Serve as an authority to address racial injustice for families and across the workforce.
- Cover out‑of‑hours on a rota basis as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified children’s social worker with knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Ability to guide, motivate and develop staff using evidence‑based practice.
- Experience managing pressure, vulnerable children and looked‑after children.
- Enhanced children’s DBS check, Social Work England registration, and a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent in Education, Police or Health).
Working Hours & Location
- 37 hours per week, core hours: 8:30am‑5:00pm Monday‑Thursday, 8:30am‑4:30pm Friday.
- Based mainly at Halford House, with flexible working to meet service needs.
Salary & Benefits
- Annual salary: GBP 51,356 – 54,495.
- Total benefit value (including pension contribution and full holiday entitlement): GBP 74,308.97.
