The role involves shaping developments, leading innovative practice and making a lasting difference for children, young people and families across our diverse city.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop the specialist role for Transformation for Inclusion across specialist provisions and mainstream settings, building strong relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Use your expertise in complex casework to support inclusion in Alternative Provision, Internal Alternative Provision, Resource Bases, Post 16 and Out of City placements for Leicester City Council.
- Provide evidence‑based practice through Collaborative Action Research projects and contribute to LA strategic initiatives.
- Support stability and inclusion within mainstream schools via system‑level assessment and intervention.
- Lead as Specialist Senior EP, including management, supervision and development of Educational Psychologists and promotion of reflective practice.

- Integral role in LA EBSA strategy and working with Children’s Hospital School.
- Expanding accredited ELSA training and supervision offer.
- Opportunities for professional interest and links to Universities Doctoral EP training courses.
- What You’ll Need
- Experience as an Educational Psychologist with a strong reflective and values‑driven approach.
- Substantial experience working with children on alternative education pathways, including neurodivergence and social/emotional needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with families and partners.
- Evidence of knowledge and commitment to using psychology for effective inclusion and leading local authority or school development projects.
- Ability to lead and work well within multi‑professional teams, with autonomy in planning and management.
- Professional qualification and registration with HCPC.
- Enhanced DBS check.
