A challenging and rewarding role in managing the reduction of anti-social behaviour across Leicester City Council's housing areas. An exciting opportunity to oversee and support a newly established team of anti-social behaviour officers working to reduce and manage anti-social behaviour across our housing areas.

You will support a team of 6 full time Anti-Social Behaviour Officers, part of the Community Safety Team. You will oversee their development regarding learning to impose legal interventions and manage complex cases. You will also support the team with day-to-day case management enquiries by offering practical support and advice. Our approach in dealing with anti-social behaviour covers all aspects from prevention to rehabilitation to protection and support of victims and witnesses.

Join us to help lead on the work with tenants, colleagues, elected members and external agencies such as the Police, Victim First and Local Businesses, to identify and reduce anti-social behaviour in key areas where Leicester City Council operates.

You’ll form part of the Community Safety leadership team and will oversee first class, bespoke responses to anti-social behaviour ensuring response times are met and solutions are meaningful. This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. However, you’ll be able to work regularly outside of office hours including evenings and weekends. Based in the City Centre, you’ll work from a variety of locations for variable durations as well as from home. Appointment to this role is subject to Non Police Personnel Vetting at Level 2 (NPPV2).

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will support a team of 6 full time Anti-Social Behaviour Officers responding to reports of anti-social behaviour on our estates and housing areas.
  • You will support staff to engage with victims, complainants, and perpetrators as well as internal and external partners to manage our response to anti-social behaviour.
  • You will oversee officers’ caseloads of lower-level anti-social behaviour cases ensuring the approach is innovative and pro-active.
  • You’ll be able to identify risk and recognise when cases become more complex and require more intensive management or legal action.

What you’ll need:

  • You’ll have excellent leadership qualities and be keen to develop your management skills.
  • You’ll have knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation and locally agreed approaches to tackling it.
  • With good knowledge of council services and other organisations, you’ll understand how they could impact on or help address anti-social behaviour issues.
  • Using excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as good attention to detail, you’ll have the ability to check and review officers’ responses to victims, MP and Cllr enquiries as well as prepare statements and legal bundles.
  • You’ll have a high level of organisation with the ability to identify risk and regularly re-prioritise your work and other duties with the minimum of supervision.
  • You will be patient and have the ability to inspire and develop your colleagues.
