If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Inclusion Teacher.

The Quality Inclusion Team is an innovative team within Leicester City’s SEND support services, which actively supports the inclusion of our Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We facilitate implementation of the graduated response within mainstream schools, in line with the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation and frameworks, to support our Children and Young People to have the very best educational provision and ensure that their SEND needs are met, by providing schools with support to quality assure their inclusive mainstream offer.

Your Role

  • You will work collaboratively with professionals and stakeholders to provide advice and support relating to inclusive provision, improving opportunities, preventative strategies, and use of available funding streams effectively and efficiently to promote SEND and remove barriers to inclusion.
  • Implementing systems and processes for Quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation, and performance of provision and continuing professional development.
  • Using restorative processes and solution focussed methods of working to ensure best practice and champion SEND and inclusion.
  • Work closely with colleagues in SEND support services to support the placement of our Children and Young People to facilitate the best possible educational outcomes and preparation for adulthood.
  • Regularly attending and leading multiagency panels as part of high needs funding and resource allocation and carrying out spend reviews to quality assure funding expenditure, measure impact to the Children and Young People, and identify creative and innovative ways of spending to support and promote inclusion.
  • Develop and implement effective systems and processes to ensure funding is utilised appropriately.
  • Produce and implement training and information for professionals and stakeholders on matters relating to Quality assurance and funding such as funding applications, BERA audits and Assistive technology.

Requirements Of The Post / Qualifications

  • As a qualified teacher you'll hold QTS status and have significant experience in SEND including experience with pupils with cognition and learning, communication, and Interaction and/or social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Having successful teacher experience in mainstream or SEND schools you'll have the ability to work across all primary phases and or secondary.
  • You’ll have an informed understanding of the key issues for SEND on a local and national level as well as knowledge of legislation and good practice.
  • As a positive communicator, you'll make use of your abilities to motivate, influence, and persuade others by chairing meetings and delivering training sessions.
  • Thinking creatively, you'll be able to negotiate with tact and diplomacy.
  • With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll liaise with other professionals, schools, and families on a daily basis to develop and implement effective processes, to ensure that children and young people with SEND needs are achieving the best possible outcomes.
  • Using proficient IT skills, you'll be able to clearly present guidance on policy, write proposals for change and prepare complex reports to evidence findings.
  • You’ll be able to confidently interpret and explain complex legislation to others, presenting statistical and technical data in a range of formats to suit a variety of audiences.

  • Hybrid working: working from home, visiting schools and colleges and work within Leicester City Council offices.
  • This is a full-time permanent position with Teacher Pay and Conditions.
  • Full Time (32.5 hours) on Teacher's pay and conditions Lead Practitioner Scale 3.
  • The annual salary for this role is £54,664 per annum.
