The full-time, fixed term position works 37 hours per week (for 12 months to cover maternity leave). This role offers flexibility in hybrid working, working remotely from home or in City Hall. Due to our new ways of working policy, you'll be required to work from a non-home based location a minimum of two days a week.

  • You’ll increase customers' financial capability through education, awareness, and motivation to enable customers to manage their own benefit claims and rent payments.
  • You’ll provide a customer focused and responsive service to achieve high standards of customer care and help sustain, support, and maintain tenancies by providing advice and referring vulnerable individuals to appropriate support agencies.
  • Using excellent communication skills, you’ll support a wide range of customers, including vulnerable people, who may have complex needs, with management of benefit claims.
  • You’ll have sound IT skills to update databases and maintain records.
  • You’ll have strong assessment skills to manage cases, assess outcomes and enable the impact of welfare reform to be assessed.
  • With tact and diplomacy, you’ll confidently resolve difficult and challenging situations.
  • Using motivational and negotiation skills, you’ll encourage customers to manage their own benefit claims and rent payments.
