Role Overview
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent.
Team: Housing Standards / HMO.
The Regulatory Services team ensures standards are met across the city at restaurants, retail units, private rented homes, festivals, licensed premises, and roadside sites. We investigate complaints, carry out inspections, gather evidence, and use statutory powers to protect the public. Our work is visible, practical, and makes a tangible difference. This role focuses on Private Sector Housing, ensuring landlords meet the required standards for rental properties and houses in multiple occupation. The work ranges from advisory visits and compliance checks to formal enforcement action, including preparing and attending court or hearing cases.
As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will provide professional leadership on complex investigations and high‑risk enforcement cases, oversee daily operations, and guide colleagues to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Matrix manage a team of enforcement officers, providing clear and concise technical advice.
- Monitor individual work and inspire performance, creating opportunities for innovation.
