Overview
Help keep streets clean and tidy for residents and visitors to Leicester. Cleansing Services provides a variety of street-cleaning operations to maintain a clean environment within designated areas across the city. We work in the heart of the communities to ensure local areas are clean, safe and free from environmental issues.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Team Leader and Local Area Manager to undertake driving duties across the city, removing and disposing of debris and refuse at designated sites.
- Carry out routine maintenance of LGV vehicles, checking oil, water levels, tyres, batteries, and performing vehicle body checks.
- Replace worn brushes, vacuum skirts and filters on vehicles.
- Maintain accurate paperwork including logbooks, tachographs and daily driving records.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of driving and a valid LGV driving licence.
- Awareness of health and safety and manual handling, capable of continuous physical work.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete paperwork.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work in a team and respond politely to the public.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for maintaining clean streets.
