Full‑time (37 hours per week) for a fixed term of 12 months.

The role is full‑time, but part‑time applications are welcome.

Flexible and hybrid working will be considered and discussed during the interview.

Location

Central – New Parks House, Leicester.

Salary & Benefits

Total benefit value (including pension contribution and full holiday entitlement): £38,374.53.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient governance advice, administrative and clerking support to school and academy boards to ensure statutory duties are met.
  • Plan, prepare and organise meetings and hearings, ensuring governors receive timely information to enable effective decision‑making.
  • Maintain comprehensive governing board records, including minutes, reports and full membership and training records in accordance with data protection, freedom of information and school governance regulations while remaining impartial and confidential.
  • Establish strong working relationships with the Chair, the Headteacher and board members, building mutual respect and trust.
  • Attend meetings outside normal office hours as required, managing hours flexibly to meet board demand.
  • Support hybrid working arrangements to manage workloads effectively.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to meet statutory and SLA time‑scales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to intervene and keep meetings on track.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • Capability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work in a responsive manner.
  • Willingness to undertake training for the role.
  • Demonstration of our values and behaviours.
  • Professional credibility through proven relevant experience (not essential).
