Join us in achieving our goal of providing well‑maintained, compliant buildings. With a strong background in construction or maintenance of Mechanical and Gas Building Systems, you’ll play a key role in managing the delivery of projects, primarily within commercial properties. Our Estates and Building Service is a professional, multi‑disciplinary team that offers a varied workload and an array of opportunities. We have a large and diverse portfolio of properties including listed buildings & scheduled monuments, educational buildings, and leisure facilities, to name a few.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll provide specialist advice & support across the property portfolio, specifying or coordinating the design of systems including maintenance and testing requirements.
  • Managing the delivery of a variety of projects with a bias towards mechanical and gas systems, whilst working within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • With excellent people skills, you’ll confidently engage with stakeholders including internal colleagues, clients, contractors as well as regulatory bodies.
  • With drive and ambition, you’ll identify opportunities for modern technology solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of the estate and help address the climate emergency.
  • Using strong analytical skills and detailed technical knowledge of building systems compliance, you’ll review costings, to deliver best practice.

You’ll hold an MIWFM or be able to demonstrate extensive experience and qualifications within a discipline relevant to the role. It is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel frequently between locations. This is a full‑time, permanent post working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Based at City Hall, you’ll have the flexibility to work from home or on‑site and be required to travel to construction locations in and around Leicester.
