Are you a qualified lifeguard looking for flexible work in a dynamic sports environment? We are recruiting enthusiastic individuals to join our casual bank of staff across Leicester’s leisure centres. At Active Leicester, we support sport and wellbeing across the city. Our facilities include seven leisure centres with swimming pools and gyms, a climbing wall, an athletics track, a golf facility, and multiple dedicated football pitches. Our pools are inclusive spaces, offering sessions and lessons for all ages and abilities. With continued investment and refurbishment, we’re growing our teams and looking for committed lifeguards to support our expanding services.

Shift Pattern

This is a casual role requiring flexibility. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Centres operate between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. You must be able to work across at least two of the seven sites.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising pool activities to ensure the safety of all users
  • Enforcing rules to prevent accidents and maintain a safe environment
  • Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times
  • Assisting with general facility operations, including cleaning and equipment set-up

Requirements

  • A valid NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
  • Strong swimming ability and confidence in emergency situations
  • A flexible, reliable approach to work

Successful candidates will receive ongoing support and training to help them thrive in the role.
