Location: Various locations across Leicester City

Contract: 20 hours per week (Part‑time, between 5 and 20 hours per week), permanent.

Responsibilities

  • You will plan and deliver both face‑to‑face and online English functional skills courses to adult learners using engaging resources and teaching methods that encourage active learning.
  • You will maximise attendance, retention and achievement, and monitor learning to ensure outcomes and success rates are achieved.
  • You will confidently use technology in and outside the classroom such as Google Classroom and Google Meet, attend regular meetings, CPD sessions, enrolment sessions, and assist in exams.
  • You will travel to settings and schools across the city or teach online as part of a blended learning approach, and may work outside normal office hours, including evenings.

Qualifications

  • Subject specific qualification at an appropriate level
  • Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 or willingness to work towards it
  • Minimum GCSE A to C or equivalent English qualification

Benefits

  • Salary: GBP 26,448 - GBP 28,868 per year (pro‑rata for part‑time, term‑time hours).
  • Career progression up to GBP 30,168.
  • Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
