Responsibilities
- You will plan and deliver both face‑to‑face and online English functional skills courses to adult learners using engaging resources and teaching methods that encourage active learning.
- You will maximise attendance, retention and achievement, and monitor learning to ensure outcomes and success rates are achieved.
- You will confidently use technology in and outside the classroom such as Google Classroom and Google Meet, attend regular meetings, CPD sessions, enrolment sessions, and assist in exams.
- You will travel to settings and schools across the city or teach online as part of a blended learning approach, and may work outside normal office hours, including evenings.
Qualifications
- Subject specific qualification at an appropriate level
- Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
- Teaching qualification at Level 5 or willingness to work towards it
- Minimum GCSE A to C or equivalent English qualification
Benefits
- Salary: GBP 26,448 - GBP 28,868 per year (pro‑rata for part‑time, term‑time hours).
- Career progression up to GBP 30,168.
- Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
