Part Time / 29.15 Hours Per Week / 4.5 days a week / Term Time / Fixed Term for 1 year. This role starts at the beginning of the autumn term 20.08.26.

The Early Years Support Team (EYST) supports and promotes the education of young children with complex SEND in the home and in Leicester City settings and schools. The team consists of specialist teachers and teaching assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage your caseload.
  • Support parents, setting and school staff by assessing, advising, monitoring, evaluating and providing direct teaching support.
  • Co‑locate at New Parks House and one of the children centres.
  • Facilitate sharing of good practice and networking across Leicester schools.
  • Travel to homes and schools to support staff and pupils.
  • Advise on preparation and implementation of individual programmes.
  • Support parents/carers.
  • Work with SENCo, professionals and families.
  • Attend meetings, write reports and provide recommendations for EHCP educational assessments and statutory reviews.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status and significant experience in Special Educational Needs, including working with early‑year children.
  • Experience in mainstream or SEN schools across the foundation stage.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation, local and national practice, and good practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Enhanced Children’s DBS Check required.
