This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver a transformative project that will have a lasting impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our goal is to create a more efficient and streamlined transport service, ensuring children with SEND have a safe and reliable means of commuting between home and school.
This is a full-time, fixed term post for 6 months, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role and the postholder will be based in Sulgrave Road, closely working in the Independence and Transport and Passenger Transport Teams to support operations with the implementation of a new transport system, reporting to the Strategic SEND Transport Lead to ensure delivery of the project goals.
What you’ll be doing:
- A pivotal role in redefining our transport provision and optimizing logistical opportunities, you’ll work with operational teams and the new provider to set implementation up to succeed.
- You’ll develop robust and realistic planning factoring in operations, logistical and fleet opportunities.
- You’ll provide guidance to ensure delivery.
- You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth and seamless implementation of the new transport model.
- You’ll support with the delivery of a broader transformation programme as well as the implementation of a new IT system to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Transport teams' portfolio.
What you’ll need:
- With a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, you’ll have experience of managing budgets and monitoring spend.
- Using strong leadership skills, you’ll manage project teams and motivate others to achieve outcomes.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, you’ll have exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- You’ll have excellent communication skills, to effectively liaise with a range of individuals and groups at a variety of levels and inspire the team.
- With the ability to analyse complex data and develop innovative solutions, you’ll be confident in presenting ideas and command the confidence of others.
- Dedicated and dynamic, you’ll be passionate about making a difference and having a positive impact for children.
