Leicester is a vibrant and diverse city. Naturally that means there are many people that need our support – for many different reasons. It’s challenging, but we know we can help. That’s because we have honed our practice and our processes over many years. We use evidence to form the right partnerships to have the biggest effect. We decide what we’re going to do, how we’re going to do it, and, above all, implement it well, with time for the change to be understood, and take real effect. And we use this stability to build better connections and understand the people and families we help. When we put it all together, we can give lasting help, not long‑term reliance.

Join our Child in Need team to progress plans for children who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans as well as manage care proceedings cases. You’ll assess families, manage meetings with professionals, making appropriate referrals and completing direct work with children and families. Using Signs of Safety as a model of intervention, you’ll support sound social work practice.

In return what we will offer you:

  • A wide range of training at every stage of your career. Our award‑winning learning and development team have a huge offer to ensure you can progress your career and feed your interests.
  • The opportunity to always have someone to talk to give professional support and advice, or simply to be a friendly listener.
  • Flexible and hybrid working as possible, looking after your wellbeing and keeping your caseloads in manageable limits.
  • The chance to do the job right and give you the backing you need.

Based in Halford House 2 days a week, you’ll work a hybrid model with full time hours typically 8.30‑5 Monday – Thursday and 8.30‑4.30 on a Friday. We are flexible with our hours having a flexible working scheme with part time and fixed term options – we will work around you! This includes the option as a full‑time worker to do a 9‑day working fortnight.

You must be a Qualified Social Worker with a CQSW, DipSW, Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification in Social Work. You must also be registered with Social Work England or Health Care Professions Council. We may consider offering sponsorship if you are living in the UK and pay relocation package if you are moving to Leicester.
