Are you passionate about delivering motivating and engaging swimming lessons for all ages and ability levels, and have a flexible approach to working hours?

Active Leicester operates swimming lessons at seven leisure centres within the city: Aylestone, Braunstone, Cossington Street, Evington, Leicester Leys, New Parks and Spence Street.

When employed as a Casual Swim Teacher, you’ll have the flexibility to work across any of the Active Leicester sites, covering lessons on an adhoc basis. Hours of work may include daytime, evenings, and weekends.

What you'll be doing

You’ll work closely with the leisure centre teams to deliver swimming lessons to Active Leicester customers, ensuring you create a safe and welcoming environment.

You’ll teach a programme of instructed sessions, record weekly attendance and progression for each swimmer and comply with all training, safeguarding, health & safety and operational requirements. Using your expertise, you’ll provide feedback and direction to service users, promoting a quality experience for all.

What you’ll need

An appropriate Swimming Teaching qualification – STA award/certificate or Swim England (Previously ASA) Level 1/Level 2 qualification.

Previous experience of devising and delivering engaging swim classes for participants of varying abilities and from a variety backgrounds and cultures using a variety of swimming aids and equipment.

You’ll need excellent communication skills to deliver high levels of customer service to the swimmers and their parents/guardians, as well as good punctuality, time management and organisation skills to ensure each lesson runs smoothly, safely and progressively.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
