Leicester Adult Education offers an extensive programme of courses and community-based provision. We have a diverse student community who are taught by our qualified and dedicated staff. Our programmes are designed to thoroughly prepare and respond to the needs, and motivations of a broad range of adult learners.

Digital and Computing qualifications are a vital aspect of today's world of work. Our provision in this area is expanding, and we need qualified tutors to help us move forward and provide the best learning experience possible for our adult learners across the city.

As an inspirational and motivated adult tutor, you'll provide a high-quality learning experience that promotes achievement, learner progression and supports individual needs. You'll plan and deliver both face-to-face and online courses to adult learners using engaging resources and teaching methods which encourage active learning. You'll maximise attendance, retention and achievement as well as monitor learning to ensure outcomes and success rates are achieved. In addition, you'll confidently use technology in and outside the classroom such as Google Classroom, Google Meet and other applications. You'll attend regular meetings, CPD sessions, enrolment sessions, and assist in exams.

You'll need to have the following qualifications:

  • Teaching qualification at minimum Level 3, with a commitment to work towards a Level 5
  • English and Maths qualifications at a minimum of Level 2
  • Level 3 in Computing

You'll have experience of working in digital skills as well as experience or interest in relevant software packages such as photo editing, AI, and web design.

You'll be based at the Adult Education College however you'll be required to travel to settings and schools across the city or teach online as part of our blended learning approach. You'll be able to work outside of normal office hours, including evenings.

Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
