Join our ever-improving service ensuring children are at the heart of our work. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Children’s Services and play a key role in improving life for families and children. The various teams across the service are dedicated to children’s social care to support the most vulnerable people in Leicester. As the service is large, the work is varied and we have many different locations across the city, you’ll have the opportunity and exposure to learn new skills and build on your experiences.
Working in a busy yet challenging environment, you’ll provide administrative support to the service which could include minute taking, maintaining records, reception duties and processing financial aspects of the role. Working in Halford House or one of the children and young people family centres these are all office based roles.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll ensure the service runs smoothly by responding to face-to-face enquiries, answering the telephone, responding to emails; resolving enquiries in an efficient way.
- You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate electronic filing systems to ensure all records are up-to-date and remain confidential as well as process payment of orders/invoices or payments direct to individuals.
- You may support meetings by taking notes/minutes, cover reception duties and switchboard services.
What you’ll need:
- You’ll have some experience of carrying out administration tasks, supporting meetings as well as have a good understanding of the importance of customer care.
- Using good verbal and written communication skills, you’ll provide excellent customer service when resolving and responding to a variety of enquiries.
- With strong organisational skills, you’ll be able to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment; ensuring telephone enquiries are answered in an efficient manner.
- You’ll have proficient IT skills to carry out general administrative tasks, maintain records and databases and produce simple reports to aid service delivery.
- Working with speed, accuracy, and high attention to detail, to deliver a high-quality frontline service.
