The Sales Account Manager Medical is responsible for concentrating on the main primary objectives of sales growth, maintenance of margin and improving market share. This post will have the responsibility for proactively seeking out opportunities to build new business relationships across all microscopy applications and markets, with the exception of Industrial, Clinical and Life Science customers. This will be achieved through brand promotion and active selling strategies with the implementation of key skills gained from training.
Essential to this position will be an enthusiasm to drive the business in a competitive market, combined with detailed and accurate pipeline activity managed through SFDC. In addition, the demonstration of good technical skills gained in a similar scientific sales role would be a distinct advantage. This position reports to the Sales Manager Medical and is part of the EMEA team, working remotely to cover Sales Account Manager Medical East Anglia/ East Midlands/ East Yorkshire.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop a Sales Strategy in order to achieve set performance targets, maximise profit and turnover.
- Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts.
- Plan and carry out minimum 5 visits to potential new customers and existing customers to continually monitor requirements, satisfaction levels, business trends, competitor activity and develop new business and customer base.
- Ensure customer relationship management (Salesforce) system is fully maintained and up to date.
- Have in place robust countermeasures for possible underachievement of sales forecasts.
Requirements:
- Proven Sales record in a similar environment.
- Ability to drive business success through demonstrating consistent and impressive sales growth over a period of time.
- Technical ability to demonstrate Medical Microscopy products.
- Strong communication skills and a sound business acumen.
- Effective time management and personal organisation.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role:
- Ability to travel Field based travel extensively within the defined UK Territory.
- Attendance at UK Sales Meetings and where necessary to promote Leica Microsystems at Exhibitions, Trade Meetings, Workshops and Seminars etc.
- Product and Personal Development Training within the UK and Europe (Typically Wetzlar, Heerbrug and Mannheim) as necessary.
- Occasional travel within EMEA.

- Have an outgoing personality with the ability to engage with customers to influence their purchasing decisions.
