Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Key Account Manager (Biopharma) to manage strategic accounts in the UK and Ireland.
Role Overview
You will be the primary relationship owner for the Leica Microsystems Life Science portfolio in Biopharma and Clinical Research workflows, building and maintaining long‑term executive relationships and a strong KOL network.
In This Role, You Will Have the Opportunity To
- Own the account strategy and territory plan for the UK and Ireland, aligned to Biopharma and Clinical Research priorities (process development, QC/QA, translational research, imaging core facilities).
- Build and expand long‑term executive relationships and a strong KOL network; map stakeholders, influence structures and buying centers.
- Drive opportunity identification, qualification and pipeline management across the portfolio, ensuring accurate funnel hygiene and forecasting (e.g., Salesforce).
- Lead the end‑to‑end sales process: customer discovery, solution design (with Product Specialists/Applications), value‑based proposals, quoting, negotiation and commercial closing.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally (Product Specialists, Applications, Service, Marketing) to deliver best‑in‑class customer experience (demos, evaluations, implementation handover, service escalation) and execute account penetration/retention and ABM activities with measurable follow‑up.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biotechnology or a related scientific field; an advanced degree (MSc/PhD) or MBA is a plus.
- Experience in Key Account Management/Strategic Sales within life‑science tools, Biopharma, Clinical Research or adjacent high‑tech markets.
- Experience selling into Biopharma environments (biologics, cell & gene therapy, vaccines) and/or regulated laboratories (GxP).
- Proven ability to navigate complex organizations and engage stakeholders across scientific, operational, procurement and executive functions; strong collaboration skills and ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong business acumen with a consultative, value‑selling approach; analytical and structured work style; experience with CRM/ERP tools (e.g., Salesforce and SAP) preferred.
It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess Previous Experience In
- Knowledge of microscopy/imaging workflows applied to Biopharma and Clinical Research (high‑content imaging, digital pathology, image analysis, automation).
Travel Requirements
Up to 50% travel across UK and Ireland (customer visits, meetings, events).
