The Role
The Account Manager is responsible for proactively seeking out opportunities to build new business relationships across all microscopy applications in Lifescience research markets. This will be achieved through brand promotion and active selling strategies with the implementation of key skills gained from DBS training. Essential to this position will be an enthusiasm to drive the business in a competitive market, combined with detailed and accurate pipeline activity managed through SFDC.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop a sales strategy in order to achieve set performance targets, maximize profit & turnover.
- Plan & carry out regular visits to existing customers to continually monitor requirements, satisfaction levels, business trends & competitor activity.
- Prepare accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly sales forecasts and ensure CRM is fully maintained & up to date.
- Acquire & maintain the highest standards of product knowledge.
- Keep abreast of current trends & acquire & maintain a good working knowledge of competitor’s products.
- Represent the company at Exhibitions, Trade Association Meetings, Workshops & Seminars.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- A degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates with substantial sales experience in a relevant scientific industry will be equally considered.
- Proven sales performance in scientific instrumentation or a closely related environment.
- Prior experience with microscopy is highly advantageous.
- Strong account management experience within Life Sciences, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and exceed sales targets over time.
- Commercial insight and strategic business acumen, with the ability to influence purchasing decisions, and navigate complex sales cycles.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
- Ability to travel, >50 % travel within territory
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
