The Scientist – Investigations for Leica Biosystems is a source of technical expertise and support, responsible for supporting LBS in the timely assessment and implementation of post-launch changes and product concerns arising from areas such as customer complaints and internal product surveillance. This position is part of the Technical Operations Department located in Newcastle, UK and will be onsite.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical knowledge for supporting on-market products and post-release changes for on-market In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products
- Support in solving complex problems related to product concerns; develop, plan, and execute experiments to determine root cause and the timely implementation of corrective actions
- Contribute towards defined project/work packages in functional areas to continually improve products, processes and services
- Share knowledge, experience and lessons learned with associates cross functionally
- Take a scientific and data-driven approach to continually improve market-leading Advanced Immunohistochemical Assays and continually develop within a global organization
Essential requirements
- Previous experience of working with, or developing IVDs, ideally in relation to FISH and ISH Advanced Immunohistochemical Assays
- Knowledge of the Molecular Chemistries involved in Advanced Immunohistochemical Assays
- Experience of microscopic slide examination and interpretation of antibody/probe staining
- Proven experience in writing scientific documents, plans and reports
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment, ideally with knowledge of Change Controls, Deviations and CAPAs
