The Scientist for Leica Biosystems is responsible for aspects of data generation to support the development of our product portfolio and the effective candidate may find themselves working on a variety of projects as the need arises. This position reports to a R&D Manager and is part of the Research and Development team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and will be an on‑site role.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Work on a number of high priority projects and gain insight from others.
- Become part of a team responsible for the generation of data for a specific project you are assigned to.
- Learn how to design, perform and interpret experiments on the automated staining instrumentation.
- Be part of a wider R&D organisation, gaining exposure to a variety of different project types.
- Learn and implement the process of developing products within a regulatory environment.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
- At least a year working within a laboratory environment or have experience working within a laboratory gained within Higher Education studies.
- Experience in immunoassay development, ideally immunofluorescent assay experience.
- Possess a Degree in a scientific subject.
- Have knowledge of H&S and how this applies to Laboratory environments.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
- Experience of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and ELISA.
- Experience of working within a regulated environment.
- Previous experience of assay development.
