Technical Operations Manager – New Product Introduction

At Leica Biosystems, a Danaher operating company focused on cancer diagnostics, we are seeking a Technical Operations Manager to lead a high‑performing team responsible for bringing innovative diagnostic products from development into full operational readiness. The role is located on site in Newcastle upon Tyne and reports to the Director of Technical Operations.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Apply your experience in the successful launch of CDx, IVDR and RUO products, managing resource allocation, risk management and operational excellence.
• Lead cross‑functional project and program execution, collaborating with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations/Manufacturing and Commercial teams, with a focus on product launch execution.
• Establish, drive and nurture a high‑performing team culture.

The Essential Requirements

• BSc/MSc in a related scientific field.
• Long‑standing experience in medical device class II/III (or equivalent) development, including Design Control expertise.
• Proven ability to create and manage a vision, think strategically, plan and organize, innovate, analyze complex data, and exercise sound judgment.
• Experience with risk management throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and management skills, able to deliver products into manufacturing within the medical device industry.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in IHC Assay Product Development, Computational Assay Development, Precision Medicine or CDx pharma partnerships.
• Experience leading or influencing cross‑functional teams across biomarker research, regulatory, clinical operations and medical affairs.
• Background in Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing.
