The Equipment Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all equipment at LBS Newcastle operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The role supports the site by performing routine inspections, executing planned maintenance, and responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production disruption. This position reports to the Operating Unit Manager (Testing and Process Development) and is part of the Process Development team located in Newcastle Upon Tyne and will be an on‑site role.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:
- Plan, manage, and perform preventive maintenance in line with approved schedules
- Perform reactive maintenance quickly and effectively, communicating issues and resolutions clearly
- Analyse OEE data to identify availability, performance, and quality losses, enabling targeted improvement actions
- Lead implementation of TPM pillars relevant to equipment reliability (e.g., Planned Maintenance, Autonomous Maintenance, Focused Improvement)
- Lead or support continuous improvement activities, such as FMEA, Defect Elimination, Root Cause Analysis investigations and maintenance process enhancements
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for manufacturing and R&D instrumentation, including installation, setup, troubleshooting, and repair
