Hywel Dda University Health Board presents an exciting opportunity for motivated and experienced physiotherapists to work within Glangwili Hospital. This will be a rotational post working within our Acute Trauma and Orthopaedic service and across Critical Care and Surgical wards. Dependent on service development there may be potential to expand to other rotations.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly in the acute setting across surgical wards, trauma and orthopaedic wards and Critical Care. The post holder will be expected to be an autonomous practitioner providing specialist assessment clinical reasoning skills and managing a complex caseload daily. The post holder will assess, develop and implement co-produced, personalised treatment plans for patients with a diverse range of conditions. We place a strong emphasis on patient centred care to foster independence and well-being. The applicant will need an excellent ability to manage and prioritise a caseload, support and supervise physiotherapy students and staff. Whilst the main focus of the role will be based in Glangwili Hospital, there is an expectation to work flexibly alongside services and have the ability to travel to Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli as required. The post holder will be required to have the skills in order to participate in the respiratory On-call service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. As part of the role, you will require extensive experience and expertise in the principles, standards and delivery of inpatient rehabilitation with demonstrable knowledge of managing complex caseloads. The post holder will work closely with inpatient and community colleagues, local MDT and community services, in order to maximise patient outcomes. The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.
